AC Milan winger Alessio Cerci admits he regrets his move to Atletico Madrid.
Cerci quit Torino for Atletico last summer before returning to Serie A in January.
"I expected something more from myself too. I knew it would be a difficult year, as I didn't have pre-season training," Cerci told Milan Channel.
"I wanted to come here over the summer, but obviously I needed everyone to be on the same page for that to happen. I made the wrong choice and going back I'd do things differently.
"I came here to play football and can only achieve match fitness during games. I know this year started on the wrong foot, but I really want to give my all and go back to being the Cerci everyone admired.
"It is only natural that people start to wonder, with 10 games to go this season, where the real Cerci will be back.
"I know that when my legs are firing, I rarely get a game or a season wrong. I must always give 100 per cent to reach excellent fitness levels."
