AC Milan striker Menez in talks with Liverpool

Liverpool are reported to be readying a bid for AC Milan's French striker Jeremy Menez.

Menez only signed for Milan last summer, but Italian website Calcio Mercato Web has claimed that the Rossoneri are considering releasing the Frenchman after the acquisition of Colombian Carlos Bacca.

It is understood that Menez would cost Liverpool around £11million, but after the sale this week of Raheem Sterling, the Anfield club are looking to reinforce their attacking line and have money to spend.

Menez played 33 times for Milan last season scoring 16 times, and is believed to be the perfect partner for newcomer Divock Origi in the Liverpool attack.

Negotiations between the two sides are said to be at an advanced stage, with the two clubs sharing a good relationship after they negotiated the deal which took Mario Balotelli to Merseyside for £16m last summer.
