AC Milan are ready to offer &poud;2.5 million in January for Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.
Chelsea do not want to lose the striker to a Premier League rival and could be willing to sell him for a cut-price fee in January to the Italian side.
Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri's first priority to strengthen the attack was Carlos Tevez but the Manchester City rebel's huge price-tag has put the Serie A side off and they see Anelka as the next best bet.
