AC Milan are ready to look elsewhere as they struggle to reach terms with Chelsea for Olivier Giroud.
Corriere dello Sport says Chelsea enacted the 12 month extension in Giroud's contract meaning AC Milan will have to pay a fee if they want to sign him.
The action has added tension to the discussions between the clubs.
Negotiations have been dragging on and the Italian side have said they will withdraw their interest if a deal isn't agreed by the end of the week.
