Departing AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni expects Paolo Maldini to stay following the club's sale to RedBird Capital.
Maldini complained this week about a lack of movement on his contract and the lack of transfer funds he and fellow director Ricky Massara had to work with under Elliott Management.
Scaroni told Sky Italia: "Elliott had a crazy ride. In these four years we have put the accounts and the team in order, so much so that we have won the Scudetto this year.
"RedBird is a specialised fund in sport and therefore I expect that with them there will be a new leap forward for Milan.
"Today (yesterday) Paolo Maldini spoke with Gerry Cardinale (RedBird boss). They met, talked to him about his projects and it seems to me that he has obtained a general agreement.
"I expect Milan to face this summer transfer market with courage."
