AC Milan president Scaroni insists he never had Maldini, Massara doubts

AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni insists there was never any concern Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara would sign their new contracts.

The two directors penned new two-year deals on June 30.

“Perhaps, there have been too many rumours, but we've never stopped. The club has remained focused on the market, trying to secure important commercial partnerships," Scaroni told Il Corriere della Sera.

“I've always said I was optimistic and that Maldini and Massara would have continued their precious work here.

“Today, we are all convinced that we can continue this journey together to achieve new targets. The club has great professionals, we are a solid reality with shareholders who always support us. Ricky and Paolo surely represent our strength."
