AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has made direct contact with former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola. Aware of rival interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, Berlusconi has personally taken charge of Milan's own move for the Spaniard.
La Repubblica says Berlusconi has phoned Guardiola, currently living in New York, to offer him a four-year contract worth €6 million-a-season.
A backroom team including Roberto Baggio and Paolo Maldini has been mentioned.
