AC Milan have announced the departure of long-time transfer guru Ariedo Braida. His exit is the sign of a new era opening up under Barbara Berlusconi, who became joint-CEO with Adriano Galliani this month.
Milan said in a statement this morning:
"AC Milan thank Ariedo Braida, who left the club today, for his precious collaborator for a very long time, characterised by prestigious results that must also be attributed to his important work.
"Ariedo was involved with the club for 28 years and played his part in the signings of stars such as Marco Van Basten and Andriy Shevchenko as well as Kakà and Thiago Silva.
"He was more than a general director, being a strong link with the team so thanks once more to Ariedo and his 28 years of success at Milan."
