AC Milan have kicked off talks with River Plate for defender Leonel Vangioni.
Milan want to sign a new left-back in January and have identified Vangioni as a transfer target.
Sky Italia says Milan have approached River this week to register their interest and will soon sit down to discuss terms.
Vangioni, 27, is an Argentina international and only moved to River last year.
