AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini has distanced himself from a role with FIGC.

Maldini has been linked as a replacement for former president Giancarlo Abete.

"I was contacted by FIGC before the World Cup, but I haven't heard from anyone after that," he is quoted by the @Milanello Twitter account.

"The new rumours about me and FIGC are absolutely not true.

"I'm satisfied with my life even though I'm not working in the football world."
