AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez has spoken of his rivalry with Iker Casillas at Real Madrid.
For two seasons, first under Jose Mourinho, then with Carlo Ancelotti, Lopez was preferred ahead of Real icon Casillas.
"People could not imagine someone else in the place of Iker Casillas," said Lopez. "During that year and a half, I proved that with hard work and doing the right things, the coach would decide who was chosen not on reputation, but form."
Lopez insisted he never fell out with Casillas during those tense two seasons.
"Working with him, I never had any problems, we knew eachother for many years.
"On the field, each one fights for what is theirs, but outside things are normal."
