AC Milan have joined the battle for Olympique Lyon striker Karim Benzema.

Controcampo says Milan see the young France international as a potential replacement for Ronaldo, whose contract expires at the end of this season.

Benzema is fast-emerging as the hottest property on the European market and along with Milan, has Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal and Inter all keen. Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas knows he's set for an auction and hopes to kickoff the starting price at £17 million.
