AC Milan great Gattuso holds talks with Rangers boss

The agent of Rino Gattuso has revealed the Italian veteran has held talks with Rangers boss Ally McCoist regarding a return to the club.

The 34-year old departed AC Milan at the end of last season but is keen to continue his career in the Scottish Premier League after playing with 'Gers back in 1997 and 1998 as a 19-year old.

Gattuso's representative Andrea D'Amico has revealed that the former Italy international has spoken with McCoist and the next step is to find out about the Ibrox club and the complications surrounding the transfer embargo and financial situation.

"It is Rino's wish to come back to Rangers but first I have to speak to the people at the club to find out what the situation is," D'Amico told the Daily Record.

"He knows all about the Rangers financial situation. We know it is difficult but we can work to find a solution.

"Rino talked with Ally on the telephone. They know each other very well and like and respect each other. Now we have to work to see if something can happen.

"Not being in Europe next season would not be an issue for Rino.

"I will meet with Rangers again tomorrow for further talks."
