AC Milan coach Ancelotti insists Kaka can play with Ronaldinho

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti hailed the goal scoring performance of Kaka after victory at Bologna on Sunday.

He said: "The fact that Ricardo has decided to stay here is an ulterior motive for everyone. The affection that all the Milan public showed him has given him a lot more enthusiasm.

"In those hours, I held two positions," revealed Ancelotti. "One of aligning myself with the decisions of the club and another of following the player on an emotional level."

Ancelotti then turned to Ronaldinho who was benched for the second game in a row on Sunday after performing poorly in training and to allow Kaka to play in his preferred position.

"In time, Kaka's position on the pitch changed," said Ancelotti. "He arrived in Milan as a pure trequartista and then we moved him behind the two strikers and he was fine there.

"Then, in accordance with the needs of the team, his position became more advanced. He is now used to that role and prefers to play as a second attacker.

"As the start of this season he wasn't able to play there because Ronaldinho was there. To avoid working Ronaldinho in the defensive phase I moved him more forward," Ancelotti revealed.

"Sooner or later, we will see Ronaldinho repositioned behind Kaka. He can be a weapon against any team that defends a lot.

"But Kaka hasn't asked for any tactical privileges to stay at Milan," insisted Ancelotti. "To play more forward takes away the need to think from a defensive point of view. His move is above all for this reason."
