AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted some regret over their sale of Alberto Gilardino to Fiorentina.

"I am happy to see he is doing so well. There is some regret, because we could not find the best conditions for him to express himself," said Ancelotti.

"Fiorentina may have tactical systems that favour him, but we had to think through our own approach very carefully and for the most part they worked for Pippo Inzaghi, who helped us win the Champions League."
