AC Milan chief Galliani shuts door on defensive signing

Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti and vice-president Adriano Galliani met yesterday to discuss their plans for the final weeks of the market.

Galliani insists there's no need to add to Ancelotti's squad, particularly with Alessandro Nesta and Kakha Kaladze nearing full fitness.

However, that hasn't stopped Braida sounding out his contacts in Brazil about available defenders. The top two names on their shortlist are Fluminense's Thiago Silva and Miranda, the Sao Paulo centre-half.
