AC Milan are stepping up talks with Real Madrid for midfielder Asier Illarramendi. Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani hopes to take Illarramendi in January and this week has made contact with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
Milan have been in talks with Illarramendi's agent for the past fortnight, says Tuttosport.
Galliani hopes to take Illarramendi on-loan for the second-half of the season with the view to a permanent deal in June.
Illarramendi joined Real from Real Sociedad last year for €30 million.
