AC Milan have snapped up Porto wing-back Aly Cissokho.

The 22-year-old Porto defender can play both right-back and left-back and, although no official figures have been named, it's believed he was signed for £13m.

"The negotiations during the night were intense," Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani told the official club website.

"We consider Cissokho to be a wonderful player and the proof of that is in the interest shown in him by some of the most important European clubs.

"At the end of the day the friendship between sides after so many years proved decisive, as in the past we were co-founders of the G-14 with the Porto directors."
