AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani insists the signing of LA Galaxy star David Beckham is no gimmick.
"It is not a gimmick. He's a player that we had already tried to sign in 2007, then he chose to go to Los Angeles," said Galliani. "He asked us to come and play with us, not just to train.
"We're satisfied, we found him in good physical condition, he will stay here for nine league games, play some friendlies and then we'll see whether or not to register him for the Uefa Cup."
Galliani revealed Beckham only signed his official contract at 6pm last night due to insurance tangles with the MLS.
