AC Milan captain Romagnoli frustrated missing Champions League

AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli says they have themselves to blame for failing to qualify for the Champions League.

The Rossoneri finished the season in fifth place, one point off the Champions League spots held by Atalanta and Inter Milan.

“We're sorry that we dropped so many points on the road," said Romagnoli.

“We heard that Empoli had two great chances to equalise late in the game last night, but that's football for you. We did our part and won, but it wasn't enough and for that I'm sorry.

“Unfortunately, during the season, we threw away too many points in games where we were winning. If I could choose, I would replay the derby or the away game with Parma."
