AC Milan beat Sassuolo in Coppa in front of 8,000 fans

AC Milan saw off Sassuolo to reach the Coppa Italia quarterfinals last night.

In front of just over 8,000 fans, Giampaolo Pazzini struck the opener, volleying home a cross from new signing Alessio Cerci.

Nicola Sansone levelled after the break from the spot following foul by Cristian Zapata on Leonardo Pavoletti.

However, four minutes from fulltime, Milan grabbed the winner.

Andrea Poli volleyed on to the crossbar from a splendid Daniele Bonera pass, but Nigel de Jong was ready for the follow-up. This was the Rossoneri's first competitive victory of 2015.
