Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants to see Carlo Ancelotti use more of the club's younger players.
The Telegraph says according to sources, Abramovich believes that the Chelsea players are under-achieving and that some of the biggest culprits are the established, highest-earning members of the squad.
It is thought he will now encourage Ancelotti to accelerate the careers of younger players such as Daniel Sturridge and Salomon Kalou, along with the likes of Florent Malouda and Alex, and to give opportunities to fringe candidates Jeffrey Bruma, Gaël Kakuta and Fabio Borini.
