Scott Vernon admits he will consider his options after being released by Aberdeen.
The 30-year old striker is out of contract with the Dons next month but has not been offered a new deal and will now have to look elsewhere despite wanting to remain at Pittodrie.
"I have to do the right thing," he told the Daily Record.
"I love this club and want to stay, but there are things that need to be weighed up.
"It has been a frustrating season personally. It has been good for the club with major highs, the League Cup win being the main one.
"I would have liked to have played more.
"You speak to your agent and see what's out there but I won't do anything until I know what's happening here."
Along with Vernon, the Dons also released striker Josh Magennis and goalkeeper Nick Weaver.
