Aberdeen striker James Wilson admits his release by Manchester United had been a long time coming.
The 23-year-old was released by United when his contract expired at the end of June and went on to sign a two-year contract with SPL side Aberdeen, having spent last season on loan there.
Speaking about his release from United, Wilson told the Evening Express: “I was expecting it for a while to be honest as I had been on loan the last few years.
“Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed my time there (at Manchester United) and am really enjoying my time here as well."
On Aberdeen, he added: “I was always the boy that came from United and all that so the pressure has lifted a little.
“There is always going to be a little bit of pressure there anyway and all I have to do is try to deal with that.
“I have to focus on doing what I do best which is what I have been doing for the last few years."
