Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has indicated that his club could make a loan offer to Blackburn Rovers regarding David Goodwillie.
The 24-year old striker has returned to Ewood Park following his six-month loan at Dundee United but could be sent out again for the second half of the season with the Dons keen along with St Johnstone and Oldham Athletic.
McInnes, who briefly played with Goodwillie at Tannadice, admits he is keen on the former Crystal Palace loanee but suggests he may be slightly out of the Dons' price range.
"We have been strongly linked with him. Like everything else, sometimes you can speak to an agent and before you know it you have got a serious interest there," McInnes told RedTV.
"He's a player I am well aware of - I played with him and I think he has got the quality to score goals.
"But any player coming in here would need to be on a deal that suits us.
"It certainly wouldn't be on figures that I think he was getting paid previously for his loan spell this season.
"We are happy to an extent with the squad but you are always looking to improve it.
"Whether it's him or someone else coming, if I felt there was a player there who could improve us, or help us be successful this season, then I would ask the question."
