Aberdeen open to permanent move for Reading's Hector

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes admits he would love to sign Michael Hector on a permanent basis.

The 21-year old defender impressed for the Dons during his six-month loan from Championship club Reading earlier this season and McInnes says he would be open to signing him in the summer of the Royals don't want to extend his contract.

"We were disappointed not to get Michael back in January," said the Aberdeen manager.

"He has gone out on loan umpteen times because it's all about playing for him.

"It's a shame Michael is missing out on the chance of a cup final with us.

"He's someone who made a big impression on us and I think our club made a big impression on him.

"Reading see him as part of their plans going forward. If Michael sees that as well I'm sure he will sign there. If he doesn't then we wouldn't dismiss looking at that because he's a player I enjoyed working with."
