Mark McGhee's first competitive match in charge of Aberdeen ended in a 5-1 home defeat by Czech side Sigma Olomouc in the first leg of their Europa League qualifying third round match. This was the Dons heaviest ever home defeat in Europe, and was all the more remarkable for the teams being level at 1-1 after 45 minutes.
But once the visitor's added a second Aberdeen just collapsed as they shipped four goals in 26 second half minutes and virtually ended their interest in this year's European competition.
