Defenders

Chris Grossman (North Queensland Fury): (Was good in defence and provided plenty in attack, scoring the opener as the Fury recorded a strong win over Sydney)

Jamie Harnwell (Perth Glory): (The veteran did the job at both ends for side, netting the first goal)

Joshua Rose (Central Coast Mariners): (Had a great debut for the Mariners. A lot of their attack started with him)

Midfielders

Oliver Bozanic (Central Coast Mariners): (A strong performance by the former Reading midfielder, causing plenty of problems for Adelaide defenders)

Jason Culina (Gold Coast United): (Was simply the game saver for his side, scoring the equaliser and setting up two other goals)

Steven McGarry (Perth Glory): (Set up one goal for his side and did the business in the centre of the pitch)

Leo Bertos (Wellington Phoenix): (Was monumental for the Phoenix, providing plenty out wide and creating many chances)

Forwards

Chris Greenacre (Wellington Phoenix): (Scored twice as his side kicked off the season with a solid performance)

Shane Smeltz (Gold Coast United): (Got off the mark against his former club. Along with Culina was the catalyst as his side came from the dead to draw. Two goals a great reward)

Chris Payne (North Queensland Fury): (A second nomination for the former Sydney FC man who provided both goals as his side grabbed maximum points)

Coach

Dave Mitchell (Perth Glory): (Led his team to a character-building win in Melbourne)
