Melbourne Victory returned to form with a solid 3-0 win over reigning champions Sydney FC in Week 10 of the 20101/11 A-League season.
The Victory bounced back from their disappointing derby loss to the Heart last Friday by dismantling a hapless Sky Blues outfit who are currently experiencing a form crisis.
Reigning A-League Player of the Year Carlos Hernandez was back in touch with a superb display in midfield for the victors who indicated that a climb up the ladder may be imminent.
In other matches, North Queensland Fury consigned the Perth Glory to a fifth-straight defeat thanks to a 70th minute David Williams goal to make it 2-1 on Friday night whilst Brisbane Roar overcame a tardy start to draw 1-1 with Newcastle Jets on Saturday.
Sunday saw Wellington Phoenix notch up a new record of 24 matches unbeaten at home when they drew 2-2 with the Melbourne Heart at Westpac Stadium as Gold Coast United and league leaders Adelaide United played out a scoreless draw in front of a paltry 2,000 fans at Skilled Park.
