A-League boss Archie Fraser has rejected a request from Wellington Phoenix to have a match postponed.

Phoenix officials requested to have the match with Adelaide United in September put back due to a clash with the New Zealand national team but Fraser could not grant their wish.

"A postponement would have caused too much disruption to the competition," Fraser said.

The Phoenix are in a difficult position as a large number of players in their squad are All Whites regulars.
