A-League ladder not yet a true indicator - Newcastle Jets' Culina

Newcastle Jets coach Branko Culina believes the A-League table will not really take shape for another couple of months.

The Jets dropped to eighth following their 1-0 loss to Perth Glory on Saturday evening but Culina thinks it is too early to worry about ladder positions as all the teams are only working themselves out in the early stages of a 30-match season.

"The way the schedule is, I don't think the ladder will be a true reflection for another 10 weeks," Culina told the Newcastle Herald.

"We play the same four teams twice each, how is that a reflection. We play Perth again at home in four weeks, are away to Adelaide in two weeks, and have Brisbane and the Heart again in a few weeks.

"That is not a true reflection. Until we have played everyone at least once you won't have a fair idea.

"Perth wasn't a performance that we were hoping for. As long as we play the way we played in the first two games it will turn for us.

"With the extra games [30 rounds] this year, where we are now is not a concern."
