Italian prosecutors have called Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti, to give evidence in the match-fixing trial against former Juventus managing director Luciano Moggi. When proceedings resume in Naples on April 20, Ancelotti, who has been called as a witness, is also expected to give evidence.
Moggi is currently facing public prosecution for his part in the Calciopoli match-fixing scandal that rocked Italian football on the eve of the 2006 World Cup finals.
However, several other tops clubs were implicated in the case, including AC Milan, whom Ancelotti was managing at the time.
While there is no suggestion that Ancelotti was implicated in the scandal, there is a definite mood in Italian football that other clubs got off lightly compared to Juventus.
As well as AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina had relegations rescinded to lesser punishments for their parts in the case.
