Former Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre is still involved in the city.

The Liverpool Echo says Ayre has bagged himself another role after being appointed as the new chair of the ACC Liverpool Group.

Ayre departed Anfield at the end of February after 10 years at the club to take over as managing director of Bundesliga side 1860 Munich.

Now ACC Liverpool Group, home to BT Convention Centre, Echo Arena, Exhibition Centre Liverpool and ticketing agency TicketQuarter, have confirmed he will take over from current chair David McDonnell, who is stepping down after seven years in the role.
