Wolves defender Toti Gomes pleased with personal form

Wolves defender Toti Gomes is pleased at how he has become a key member of the team.

The centre half was not always a regular last season, but has become a mainstay under Gary O'Neil.

As Wolves look to take on Manchester City at the weekend, Gomes reflected on the past few months.

He stated to club media: “It's been a better season individually for me and collectively we've been doing well as well. Of course, we've been having ups and downs lately, but it's part of the season, sometimes you're going to have ups and downs. We've been good as a team.

“I've been improving a lot. Of course, there's still a lot to learn and improve, but the more you play, the more you're going to improve. Even by making mistakes, you're going to learn from them. I've been enjoying it."

He added: “I started the season not playing, but my goal was to keep working hard and to take chances to play, so the coach changes, and it happened because I was working hard, and I was happy to be playing and enjoyed the moment.

“For every player, I think it's good to play more than one position. It's going to be better for me if the coach can use me at left-back or centre back. Whatever position he wants, I'll always give my best and try to give my best on the pitch to help the team."
