Southampton winger Brooks unsure of Bournemouth plans

Bournemouth winger David Brooks admits that he is in the dark over his future.

The Welsh international has been spending time on loan at Southampton in the Championship.

However, he is not sure if he will stay at the St. Mary's Stadium club, come back to the Cherries, or move elsewhere.

Asked about his future by BBC Radio Solent, Brooks replied: “I haven't given it a moment's thought.

“When I came here the main focus was to get promoted.

“I wanted that, to look back on at the end of my career and think I was a part of that and contributed to that.

“Along with playing football, which is what every footballer wants to do.

“I think in terms of the summer, it is out of my hands.

“I don't know what Bournemouth want to do with me.

“In terms of what they've seen over the past couple of months, whether they want me or whether want to get rid of me.

“I don't know if Southampton want to keep me.

“There's a lot of spinning plates involved in that, and I'm just trying to do my best season and then you have the pick of your choices at the end of it, and see what you have available."

Brooks also added: “I don't think I've started back-to-back games in probably over two years. This is why I came to prove to myself that I could do it, and not get injured and little things like that.

“I've been feeling good, my performances, I could probably do a little bit better, but physically I feel quite good.

“Like I say, obviously trying to help the team do as well as possible."
