Manchester City's Seko Fofana was sent off after a bizarre head-butt in SC Bastia's 1-0 victory over Montpellier on the weekend.
Fofana, who joined Bastia on a season long-loan last summer, reacted after a confrontation with Montpellier's Jonas Martin, by violently head-butting his opponent in the 65th minute.
In what has been a successful spell so far for the Frenchman, having started 19 games across all competitions, his overreaction on the weekend will have no doubt caused Fofana some embarrassment.
The 20-year-old was quick to apologise via Twitter following the match.
Je tiens à m'excuser auprès du club de mes coéquipiers des supporters et bien entendu auprès de Jonas martin pour ce geste dangereux 1/2

Translates to: I would like to apologise to my apologise to the club, my teammates and the fans, of course with Jonas martin for this dangerous gesture
qu'on ne doit pas voir sur un terrain de football! 2/2
