Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits new contract talks due

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits that he may have talks with the club about his future in the summer.

The Gunners head coach is being linked with teams in Spain, especially as Barcelona may yet fire coach Xavi Hernandez.

Asked on the eve of the last Premier League game of the season if he would hold talks about his future, Arteta told reporters: “That's something that after the season, or whenever the right time is, we will talk and sit down."

He then added: “What is important is to win now, to keep believing that we can continue to win. That's the important thing [not his contract]."

On whether winning the Premier League on Sunday, or not winning the title, would change his mind on his future at the club, he finished: “No. Everything is relevant.

“Whatever happens, it will be very emotional on the day. It's probably not the right moment to make any conclusions but afterwards we will have time to reflect.

“You have to go through the season we have to come to the point we have done and try to understand why. We have to find the 'why' and 'how' we are going to do the next bit. That's more important."
