West Ham United are in talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Philipp Wollscheid.
Express says West Ham have opened negotiations with Bayer over a fee for the defender and are willing to put €4.5 million on the table.
Southampton are also interested in Wollscheid, but West Ham have shown the stronger interest.
The 25 year-old moved to Bayer from Nurnberg two years ago for €7 million.
Wollscheid boasts three Germany caps.
