West Brom are set to win the race for free agent Saul Shotton.
The Express & Star says West Brom are closing in on the signing of Shotton following Bury's expulsion from the EFL.
The 18-year-old is set to sign a two-year deal at The Hawthorns with Bury's future still in the air following the sad news of their exit from league football.
Shotton featured for the Baggies in the reserve game against Mansfield last week. It has been reported Watford and Leeds had bids rejected for him while he was at Bury.
The promising youngster made four first-team appearances during Bury's promotion campaign last season.
