Thiago Silva sought to cool Chelsea tempers in away end after Cup defeat

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva eased tensions with supporters after a poor Carabao Cup semi final showing.

The Blues were beaten in the first leg of their semi final against Middlesbrough.

After the 1-0 loss at the Riverside Stadium, many Blues supporters appeared furious and were booing the team.

Silva was seen speaking with the supporters and attempting to assuage their anger.

He was eventually joined by the likes of Armando Broja, Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill.

Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino stated post-game to Sky Sports: "I didn't see what happened. I saw nothing about that, only of course the fans should feel disappointed. But there are still 90 minutes to play."
