Elche have announced the dismissal of coach Pablo Machin.

Machin was sacked this morning with Elche bottom of the LaLiga table, 14 points away from safety with 12 games to play.

In a short statement, Elche announced:

"Elche Club de Fútbol announces that Pablo Machín will not continue as coach of the first team. The Club wants to thank the coach for his work and commitment during his time as a green-backed player.

"Elche Club de Fútbol wants to wish Machín and his coaching staff all the luck both personally and in his professional career. The technical staff of the first team will lead today's training session."
