Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo admitted some embarrassment over his crying after wining the Ballon d'Or this year.

Ronaldo admitted emotions had got the better of him when he blubbed "like a kid" on picking up the Ballon d'Or in Zurich. "There are some emotions you can't control; it was a moment you can't plan for.

"Having my son in my arms was the most amazing feeling; no father can resist a hug from his child, it was something natural. Maybe I cried too much, but I couldn't help it: it was a genuine moment of raw, honest emotion."
