Nice are set to make an inquiry to Newcastle United for Jamal Lewis this summer.

The 24-year-old played only five times for the Magpies last term due to injury problems.

L'Equipe states that Nice are considering securing Lewis to solve their left-back issues for this season.

There is a possibility that Newcastle may be willing to loan out Lewis to get him regular football.

The Magpies have secured Matt Targett as their main left-back for this term.

If that deal does not progress, Nice will target Empoli defender Fabiano Parisi instead.
