Nice coach Lucien Favre has admitted interest in Stoke City midfielder Gianneli Imbula.

It's emerged Nice are discussing a loan deal with the Potters for the 24 year-old.

"I remember him at Guingamp, in the days of Jocelyn Gourvennec. After, he went to ... Marseille, yes there it is," began Favre.

"Then to Porto and Stoke now.

"He's a good player, a good left-hander. He can play 6, 8, etc. Now, here he is, we must help a little get him back to his level."

Favre's words suggest a deal is close for the midfielder.
