MLS expansion franchise Montreal Impact have announced the signing of Italian striker Marco Di Vaio.
The 35-year old joins the Canadian club as a Designated Player from Bologna and admitted his delight at joining North America's newest top flight outfit.

I am extremely eager to make the entire club proud, from the president to its supporters.""I am very proud to become a member of the Montreal Impact and to start this new phase of my career," Di Vaio said on the club's official website.
Di Vaio kicked off his career with Lazio in 1993 after coming through the Rome clubs youth academy and has since played for such clubs as Bari, Salernitana, Parma, Juventus, Valencia, Monaco and Genoa. He has also represented Italy on 14 occasions.
