Promoted Premier League club Middlesbrough are pondering a move for Martin Skrtel, according to The Sun.
It is believed that the Slovakian defender will leave Liverpool this summer and is open to remaining in England's top flight.
Boro, who finished second in the Championship, are looking for some experience in central defence and Aitor Karanka is reportedly interested in bringing Skrtel to the Riverside Stadium.
However, the Teessiders might have competition for the 31-year-old as Turkish giants Besiktas and Sven-Goran Eriksson's Shanghai SIPG are also showing considerable interest.
It is understood that Skrtel, who is contracted at Anfield until the summer of 2018, would cost any interested clubs around £6million.
