Former Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy snubbed a Premier League club to return to France.
The defender, who was cleared of rape and attempted rape charges in an English court, has signed for Ligue 1 team FC Lorient.
Mendy, who had serious knee issues before his contract with City eventually ran out, is ready to resurrect his career.
Per L'Equipe, Mendy wants to play in a calmer environment, as he is aware of the publicity that will surround him.
Lorient made the move for the ex-Marseille and Monaco defender within days of his acquittal in court.
Olympiacos and many clubs from France and outside of Europe also went after Mendy.
