Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag admits he could play Victor Lindelof in midfield.
Ten Hag rejected approaches from Inter Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt for the Sweden captain last week.
And he has revealed he could have a new role for the defender in the second-half of the season.
"Lindelof was trained as a No6, as a sitting midfielder, at Benfica. So I know he can play there, and we have already tested it before in training and maybe in a match it will happen," said Ten Hag.
Lindelöf has made a total of 16 competitive appearances for United this season.
