Manchester United have failed with an approach for Villarreal left-back Alfonso Pedraza.

In need for a left-back signing this week, United made a move for Pedraza.

However, Marca says Villarreal quickly rejected the attempt for the wing-back.

United also made contact with Pedraza, but with Villarreal's stand, there was little chance of prising him away.

Pedraza is being tipped for a first Spain call this season.
