Manchester City veteran Fernandinho says Kevin De Bruyne is the best player in the world.

The Brazilian heaped praise on his Belgian colleague, after De Bruyne's outstanding turn in a 2-2 draw against Liverpool at the weekend.

The playmaker was at his best, scoring a goal and setting up his teammates for several chances against the Reds.

"It's true we have been together for quite a few years now," Fernandinho said.

"He has a special quality.

"He has amazing vision for the game and it's hard to find that in any other player in the world.

"With the skill, quality and physical quality he has, he has improved so much as a player. He can decide a game with a pass, an assist and goals.

"I am happy to be his teammate and I am very pleased for him."
